Newsletter: Vol. 24 Issue 6 (November – December 2020)

In a reverse corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Changi Airport Group (CAG) staff took to a virtual mentoring approach to Arts@Metta artists. With safe distancing measures and Work-FromHome (WFH) arrangements in place, this initiative, which started in mid-October on every Friday of the month through till November, covered three art topics over six sessions with our artists on a weekly rotational basis.

Eight of Arts@Metta’s artists were engaged in the different forms of arts: inspiring them with different drawing elements and nurturing their creativity in their perspective through linking life objects with art. Over the virtual sessions, our artists are taught that art is everywhere around us in our daily lives as well as taking on many forms. Senior Manager at CAG, Daniel Foo, who facilitated the virtual lesson from his office, drew illustrations from water, clouds, shapes and many others during the interactive session. He also introduced and encouraged art journaling to our artists, gifting each of them with an art journal to record their spontaneous inspirations.

The CSR experience was fun and pleasant for all that CAG are exploring plans to bring our artists out on an experiential visit to Changi Airport to further engage and inspire their inner art talent.
