Charity Auction

Bidding Instructions

1 . The online auction will commence on 9 July 2026 at 11:00am and close on 9 July 2026 at 8:30pm (Singapore Time).

2. The starting bid price for each auction item is based on the estimated market value provided and is inclusive of the prevailing 9% GST, where applicable.

The highest bidder will be contacted between 13 July 2026 and 17 July 2026 to arrange payment and collection of the auction item.

Successful bidders are required to complete payment within three (3) working days after receiving payment instructions, unless otherwise agreed by Metta Welfare Association. All auction items will be delivered directly to the successful bidders within 14 working days.

If the highest bidder cannot be contacted by 17 July 2026 at 3:00pm, declines the purchase, or fails to complete payment within the stipulated period, Metta Welfare Association reserves the right to cancel the sale and offer the item to the next highest bidder.

All bids submitted are final and cannot be withdrawn after they have been placed.

Condition of Items

All auction items are sold on an “as is” and “where is” basis, without any representations, warranties, or guarantees, whether express or implied, regarding their condition, quality, authenticity, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Bidders are encouraged to inspect the items carefully before placing a bid.

Item Descriptions

While every reasonable effort has been made to provide accurate descriptions and information for each auction item, Metta Welfare Association makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any description, photograph, valuation, provenance, or other information provided. Bidders are responsible for conducting their own enquiries and due diligence before bidding.

Bidder Responsibility

By participating in the auction, bidders confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Bidders are solely responsible for all bids placed and any resulting purchases, including applicable taxes, duties, collection arrangements, and any other associated costs.

Withdrawal of Items

Metta Welfare Association reserves the right to withdraw any auction item, reject any bid, suspend or cancel the auction, or cancel any sale at its sole discretion without prior notice or liability. In the event of any dispute, the decision of Metta Welfare Association shall be final and binding.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metta Welfare Association, its employees, volunteers, representatives, sponsors, donors, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive loss or damage arising from or in connection with the auction, any auction item, or any transaction arising from the auction.

Release of Liability

By participating in the auction, bidders release and discharge Metta Welfare Association, its employees, volunteers, representatives, sponsors, donors, and agents from any claims, demands, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from or relating to the auction or the auction items, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Reservation of Rights

Metta Welfare Association reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The latest version published by Metta Welfare Association shall prevail.

Successful Bid Announcement and Identity Disclosure

Successful Bid

The highest bid received at the close of the auction shall be deemed the successful bid, subject to acceptance by Metta Welfare Association and any applicable reserve price or conditions imposed by the organiser.

Announcement of Successful Bidder

Unless anonymity has been requested, Metta Welfare Association may announce the successful bidder’s name together with the winning bid amount for publicity, fundraising, marketing, or reporting purposes.

Request for Anonymity

Bidders who wish to remain anonymous must indicate their preference when submitting their registration details. Metta Welfare Association will make reasonable efforts to honour such requests, except where disclosure is required by law or is necessary for the administration of the auction.

Confidentiality

Metta Welfare Association will take reasonable steps to safeguard bidders’ personal information. However, absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where disclosure is required by law, regulatory authorities, auditors, or for the proper administration of the auction.

Personal Data Protection

By participating in this auction, bidders consent to Metta Welfare Association collecting, using, and disclosing their personal data for purposes relating to the administration of the auction, communication with bidders, payment processing, collection arrangements, tax deduction processing where applicable, and other related fundraising activities.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and Metta Welfare Association’s applicable privacy practices.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
